Pat Beaudry speaks to the audience about what Pioneer Valley Complete Count Committee has accomplished so far and the role they play. What’s at stake in the 2020 census? $16 billion in federal funding to Massachusetts for programs like Medicaid, Section 8 housing, childcare subsidies, and Title I school funding. $2,372 per person in federal funding per year in Massachusetts (this means for every person who does not do the census, the state loses $2,372 in federal funding per year – the census is only done every 10 years which equates to $23,720 in lost funding per person over 10 years).
